Enjoying Low Fat and Healthy Snacks

Snacks appropriate enjoyed watching television during the match to start a new small business

One of my favorite's pastimes is to watch television while munching of snacks. I have been doing this for the past few years and now realize that most of the snacks consumed are high in fat or high in calories. Since I love eating and didn't want to stop doing what I have done, I have switched to snacks that are low fat and still taste good. This benefited me and I wanted to share with others on how to continue enjoying watching television and eating snacks.

Here are a few tips on what snacks are tasty, good and healthy to our body.

Fruits and Vegetables

Instead of eating cheese stick, why not replaced it with a piece of fresh fruit. Fruit such as apple, banana or carrot is delicious, juicy and easy to eat. Furthermore it contains high fibre and helps lower blood cholesterol. If you prefer it cold, keep it in a polythene bag in a refrigerator. For kebab fans, skewer fruit pieces on to cocktail sticks or bamboo skewers and grilled them.

Crackers and biscuits

For pizza lovers, try crackers such as water biscuits or crisp bread spread with either reduced sugar am or marmalade.

You can even use low fat cheese and turkey ham as the toppings.

Yogurt

As for ice-cream which I know is hard to resist, try replacing it with low-fat, fruit yogurt or even fromage frais on to puddings. Keep the yogurt in the refrigerator for an ice-cream feeling.

Cereal

Cereal is real healthy food and beneficial especially for those that has high level of cholesterol. Taking it during breakfast with skimmed milk is really tasty. You can even try out no added sugar muesli as the replacement.

Canned fruits and cakes

For dessert eaters, a portion of canned fruit in natural fruit juice taste really good with serve with fat free yogurt. We do this on most weekends as the kids love it. If you really enjoy eating cakes, try rice cakes or oat cakes. It might not be as tasty as a chocolate or cheese cake, but it has its own delicacy. You can topped it with honey or reduced fat cheese. Oats are well known in reducing blood cholesterol.

Dry fruits

Dried fruit such as raisins, apricots or sultanas are really nice and healthy snacks to be munched while watching your favourite movie. There also make a perfect appetizer for children especially during school lunch or breaks.

All these snacks can now also be obtained at the night market stall operated amrinafood supplier

The Secret Cost of Excess Inventory

Let's face it, problem inventory is just a part of business. No one's exempt. No one's above it. No one's free from dealing with its ugly head rearing up from time to time. It just happens. Dead stock, surplus, and problem inventory happen. Problem inventory could really be any inventory that exceeds the optimal axis of supply and demand. But for the sake of this article we will define problem inventory as this: "Any inventory that is at or near the end of its life cycle and has not seen sales or movement for a set time determined by the industry."

Sometimes also known as:

  • Surplus Inventory
  • Excess Inventory
  • Dead Stock
  • MOS, or marked out of stock
  • Salvage
  • Customer Returns
  • Closeouts
  • Liquidations
  • Warehouse Damages
Call it what you will, but if you're sitting on goods that are taking up space and costing you money instead of making you money, then it's a problem. How much of a problem is what we're going to talk about in this article and hopefully find some reasonable solutions as well.

In case you're not sure about what to do with your surplus inventory, or how to get rid of it, or if you're even ready to let it go, let me enlighten you a bit.

Warehouse Space

The average cost of warehouse space in the United States is $5/ sq. ft. Depending on how much warehouse space your inventory is taking up and how long you've had it, your cost to simply house this merchandise could be much more than you think. Not only is that inventory costing you warehouse space directly, but think of how much it's costing you by default for the value of other possible goods that you aren't housing. Your precious and limited space is being tied up right now like a prisoner to your inventory that's not even bringing in a profit. Now we're talking about indirect costs as well.

Managing and Maintaining

I want you to also consider for a moment the cost to manage and maintain that merchandise. Don't you have someone watching over those goods and keeping them safe? Security personnel? Insurance fees? Management? Staff? It starts to add up fairly quickly, doesn't it?

Interest

What about interest on those goods? Did you pay for them outright in cash? Chances are you didn't, which means that interest is accruing on those goods as well. And since they're not selling or bringing in any kind of revenue, it is stealing the profits from your other productive inventories. At what point will you begin to pay it off and with what monies? That's right. The vicious cycle is going to just continue until you finally cut the cord. It's like they're on life support right now. With no chance of recovery. I hate to paint such a grim picture but the truth is that your problem inventory is sucking the life out of your business. And chances are it's sucking the life out of you too.

Emotional

This is another cost that is hard to measure, but what is it costing you emotionally to hang on to that inventory for dear life? It's like any destructive relationship, the quicker you get out the better. The longer you wait to get out of this relationship, the more it costs you. Not only financially, but emotionally, psychologically, and even relationally. Just get out.

Depreciation

Let's look at another factor most people never consider. The longer you sit on those goods, the more value they're losing. So if there is any value in them through secondary means of distribution, for example a reverse logistics or liquidation company, even it is slipping away. Someone is going to have to buy those goods and even with a discount retailer there is still a certain expectation of quality and fashion. The longer you wait to finally make a decision, the more value they're losing.

Opportunity Costs

And finally and most importantly, the one measure that is hardest to equate, but nonetheless just as tangible as anything, the opportunity costs of having your money tied up and not available for other investments. First of all without the money on the books, you're very unlikely to even be looking for additional opportunities, so even if they were available you wouldn't be looking for them. Second, even if you found them you don't have the room or the capital to invest because of your problem inventory. However, since we can't measure the opportunity loss, since we don't know for certain what opportunities we're missing out on, there's really no way of knowing exactly how much this element is actually costing us. But we can know for certain that it is definitely costing us.

Let's recap...How many ways is your dead stock costing you?

  • Cost of warehouse space
  • Cost of interest
  • Cost of managing and securing those goods
  • Cost of insurance
  • Cost of emotional, psychological, and relational wear
  • Cost of decay
  • Cost of lost opportunities
All in all dead stock is a business killer. It stifles productivity, it stifles production, it stifles the entire business from top to bottom. It's like a cancer. In order for your company to keep moving forward and to maintain good health, you must keep the inventory moving freely. The freer the inventory moves the healthier we are. The less it moves, the greater the risk of diseases and other life-threatening maladies.

Now think about if you were investing all of that energy in a positive direction instead of a negative one. How powerful would that be? Take all of your negative momentum and make one incremental shift in your focus, and you could change your business and your life forever.

Before you choose to become a franchisee

If only the franchise bid, many assume it is the easiest way to start a business, sure profit, existing brand, we will get training from established franchisor, and others. But what we hear those who have not as probable headlong into the franchise business. The purpose of my writing this post just to share my own experience TWO open franchise units and the experience my friends.

Before you choose to become a franchisee of a franchise business system, I think you needs examine the following. Failure to comply with one of the following rules, will result in failure, but I thought you may be bankrupt!

FIRST:

Questionnaire system supplying their products. We must remember our goal is to leverage the franchisee purchasing power or "economic of scale". Which means, a great franchise system and franchisee already has a public course can supply goods at a lower price from other suppliers outside.

Create a little research, compare the prices they offer for 10 types of products, compare with similar products from outside suppliers. If their prices higher, just forget the franchise. If they fail to provide at competitive prices, meaning you do not have a profit margin in the competitive market. You must remember, you will compete with many other dealers who obtain supplies from outside suppliers. Are you able to compete later?
Following reasons, the franchisor is willing to "markup" price higher than other suppliers in the market, saw only concerned about their profit alone. You want to take shelter under the franchisor of such?

SECOND:

Study franchise fees imposed, it is worthwhile with their brand name? There are parties who charge franchise fees as low as RM 5000, some as high as Rs 120.000. Many within the RM 30,000. You must remember this is the cost of your business. If the franchise fee is RM 30,000 for 5 years, meaning no increasing the cost of Rs 6000.00 per annum. Then also survey, is the franchise fee can be returned if you make the decision to cancel the franchise agreement? Reality, most of the franchisor is only interested in making profits through franchise fees, I repeat most franchisor is only interested in making profits through franchise fees. Be careful. In my opinion there is no brand that Malaysia should put the franchise fees it on their business, because there is no large-scale advertising such as McD, KFC and the absence of a strong name in the market than their competitors.

THIRD

Cyclic system is still stock and supply. Try to find out there, whether you INSTRUCTION take whatever stock is supplied without the franchisor itself from the freedom to choose your own stocks and products that you want to put you in the store (this is the retail franchise system, beauty, and that depending on the product) . Do you need to pay up as soon as the goods into your store?
Are there any options for you to return all goods to the franchisor if you fail to sell these?

NOT on any questions above, you better forget beseech the franchise. Reality, most of the franchisor in Malaysia is only interested in selling their products on the franchisee, and "secure" their profits, without taking the risk of whether products may be sold or not by the franchisee. A lot happens, franchisee become "dumping ground", meaning the "dumping" goods in outlets that are not behavior-franchisor to the franchisee outlets.Terrible? This is the reality franchise system in Malaysia. If you do not fall franchisor give you credit, because you will owe to any, and most of them charge 1-1.5% interest each month.

FOURTH

Are you interested in a franchise system that requires you to "bank in" daily sales or deposited in your account franchisor ostensibly they can manage better. Meaning they will push the cost of stock, the cost of rental shops, your cost of business loans and others. Believe me, such a system would be wrong in your own long-term. Try you ask them, say if sales in a month is very low, only able to meet the cost of goods only, whether the franchisor will continue to pay rent and loan business? Whether you can earn from your own business?

Reality, not hope. Rental, lending it your problem. Important for the franchisor to ensure that only goods that you take, be paid in full. That's it.

CONCLUSION

There are many criteria you should consider. I will touch on the following series in the future. I just hope you think -ripen before entering the franchise business. Maybe you need to see the existing franchisee, or find those who know the business for advice.

The Healthier Drink

Many nutritious drinks include Smoothies that
very mainstream.

Smoothies are drinks that are basically made from mixing fruits with liquids, with some flavor and nutrient enhancers added. There is no established rule as to what kind of fruits or additives to combine and you can invent you own recipe to suit your taste and nutritional needs. However, there are ingredients that are used by many, a preferred ingredient. One of these is yogurt, as many people like to enjoy a glass of smoothie yogurt mix.

Yogurt has been a health food for centuries. Our forefathers learned of its benefits long ago and even without the use of technology they have learned the technique of fermenting milk. Today, yogurt is made by introducing specific bacteria into milk. These bacteria act on the milk, consuming the natural sugars in it and excrete lactic acid. The acid causes the milk to curdle and gives it its sour taste. It is also the presence of the acid that inhibits growth of bad bacteria. Yogurt is nutritious because it contains protein, calcium, riboflavin and, vitamins B6 and B12. Although these nutrients are also found it milk, some consider yogurt to be healthier because people who are lactose-intolerant can consume it. The beneficial bacteria found in it aids in digestion and cures diarrhea.

Smoothie yogurt mixes combine the health benefits of yogurt and fruits. The addition of the dairy product significantly increases the absorption of vitamins and minerals since the smoothie will be easily digested. In addition, yogurt improves the bioavailability of other nutrients that are mixed with it, especially calcium and B-vitamins. Hence, if the fruits contain these nutrients, the body can obtain more benefits from them.

A sample recipe of a simple but nutritious smoothie yogurt mix has one cup of mango slices, one cup of yogurt, sweetener and ice cubes. These are mixed together in a blender until smooth and can be enjoyed after minimal preparation. This drink contains only 180 calories and provides thirty percent of a person's daily calcium needs. Aside from the nutrients provided by the yogurt, the mango also contributes its share of the good stuff. It has fiber and contains the vitamins A, C and E, which fight free radicals that cause cellular damage. The minerals potassium, iron and selenium are found in mangoes. With such an easy-to-make and non-fattening drink, a person can help his body fight disease, look and feel younger, have a healthier heart, have clearer skin, have better circulation and become more active. All these come from the substances found in both the fruit and yogurt.

A smoothie yogurt mix is the perfect combination that provides the needed health benefits that most people lack. Fortunately, this mixture tastes great too; and making this drink a daily habit will not be a problem at all.

An Easy-To-Make Mango Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 large mango (diced and chilled)
  • 1 banana (sliced and chilled)
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • ice cubes
Steps:
  1. Mix all of the ingredients together in a blender until smooth.

  2. Pour into tall glasses and serve. (Garnish with orange slices if preferred)

Soya pudding Chocolate

Chocolate pudding

Ingredients

1 liter soy milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoon sugar
100 g corn starch
150 g dark chocolate
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, or too taste

Servings: 6

Recipe directions

This chocolate pudding recipe gives a very thick pudding which will keep its form when turned out of the mould. If you like a more liquid pudding use 60 g corn starch instead of 100 g.

Add the corn starch to about 200 ml soy milk and mix to get a smooth slurry.

In the meantime bring the remaining 800 ml soy milk to boil. Add the sugar. When boiling slowly add the starch mixture, while stirring constantly. Continue to boil for a minute. Remove from heat, add the chocolate and salt and stir until the chocolate is dissolved.
Moisten the inside of a pudding mould with water. This step insures that the pudding will come out of the mould smoothly. Poor the chocolate pudding in the mould and let it cool down. Turn the pudding out of the mould on a serving plate.
Serve the chocolate pudding as such or with some brown sugar.

Chocolate facts

Everybody likes chocolate because of its melt-in-the-mouth consistency. Some people even crave chocolate as it contains some chemicals, such as anandamide and phenylethylamine, which creates a soothing effect on the brain. Eating chocolate releases endorphins, which act as pain reliever, in our brain. Chocolate does not cause acne. Dark chocolate is more healthier than milk chocolate.
These are some levels of nutrients in 100 g dark chocolate: 5.3 g protein, 397 mg potassium, 63 mg calcium and 3.2 mg iron. Chocolate also contains some vitamins and large amounts of antioxidant polyphenols, which can help to prevent oxidative damage to our cells and reduces the risk of heart disease and cancer.

How to "Ethically" Spy on Your Competitor's Every Move

re you trying hard to keep an edge on your competitors, but they always seem to be one step ahead of you? You may be exposing yourself, and not even know it. The great news is that your competitors are probably doing the same thing.

For example, if you take one of the freelance type websites, you can see what others (and possibly your competitors) are up to just by going to Google.com and typing in "site:freelancewebsitenamegoeshere.com "keyword phrase"" (without the beginning and ending quotes). You will see all the projects that have that particular keyword phrase in the description, just at that site. You can then run that same query on the next freelance site you're monitoring.

There are several sites that you should monitor on an ongoing basis, including scriptlance DOT com, elance DOT com, and rentacoder DOT com, but there are actually a few others that can provide you with a tremendous amount of informaton.

There are also other ways in Google, where you can go, if you know your competitors website, and type in queries similar to that, basically, constraining it to one of these outsourcing sites.

So, "site:scriptlance.com" will constrain the search in Google to that one site and then, in quotation marks, type in their website URL, like competitorwebsite.com. Example: site:scriptlance.com "competitorwebsite..com." You will find all the projects that your competitors are putting out there. If you have any competitors in the industry, which I imagine every single one of us do, this is a great way to have insight into what is going on at their sites, what they have on horizon, and what they are building so you can counteract that, or address that, on your own site.

Conversely, you always want to protect your intellectual capital, and you want to protect any projects that you are currently doing for competitive reasons. There are many ways that you can put a project out there for bid, but protect your information where it won't be indexed in Google, Bing, Yahoo!, or any of the major search engines. If you don't do that you are opening yourself up to the same spying.

If you've not considered Outsourcing time-consuming tasks and special projects, its something that you should take note of. Finding reliable outsourced providers can decrease your fixed costs and free up your employees to allow more time to focus on more important, revenue-generating tasks such as marketing and promotion.

Outsourcing can provide a huge opportunity whereby you can find the very best providers, for a given task or project, and you'll typically pay much less than you would if hiring a local part-time employee. Best of all you don't have to worry about all the ongoing expenses that typically come with a traditional employee. Outsourced providers can be paid on a one-time basis for exactly the work that they complete. Its really a great way to manage the cash flow of your business and you'll get exactly what you want.

Remove yourself from the day-to-day operations of your small business, website, or eCommerce store and outsource today!

Personal Brand Loyalty

Branding your business is the first thing your to create.

Personal brand loyalty is similar to product brand loyalty in that we choose to believe the message with emotional expectations of performance. This performance then leads into trust which is where the loyalty begins. However, when it comes to personal brand loyalty the dynamic changes a bit.

When marketing a product, the expectations come from interaction with the product - it is tangible. Whereas with a personal brand the expectations are based upon the service that you provide for them. For some products there is no way of knowing how long the consumer interacts with it, if they are using it properly and their level like and dislike on a regular basis. Yes, social media has changed this where there are forums for people to discuss how they are feeling about a product but with a personal brand the consumer has an opportunity to reach out to you directly and tell you what they are feeling and they are provided with an immediate response.

How does personal brand loyalty work on a larger scale? Take celebrities. If someone you like is starring in a movie or a television show you most likely will tune in to see how they do and what the movie or show is about. What about in professional sports? Players generally do not get to choose which team they play on. A player that you have been loyal to is traded to a team that you have long despised. Do you remain loyal to that player and watch them on the new team or abandon them because they are no longer on "your team." What happens when a player does not perform to our expectations. We hear this all the time where a player is a scrub, stinks, gets booed, etc. As a professional player we as consumers and fans expect them to be get a hit every at bat, catch every ball that comes to them, nail every field goal kick.

Their promise to us is that they will perform but to whose expectations? If they have a bad game the fans start in about their performance. They know they botched a catch, struck out 3 times in 4 at bats. How about when a new player comes over to our team? Do we buy into them or wait for their performance to determine? This is not very different from when we encounter a new brand. Will we buy it and try it and wait pass judgment after we use it or just decide to not buy it and stick with what we know has performed.

When we effectively market ourselves and deliver consumers will set expectations of you. Think about certain bloggers that you read everyday. You have an expectation that they will deliver a blog each day that you will enjoy. Seminars - certain speakers can fill a room in a minute even if no-one in the room has ever heard them speak before. They have effectively marketed themselves and have delivered because if they do not, you abandon and move on to someone else.

As a small business owner a big part of your marketing strategy whether traditional or social, needs to include your own personal brand. If people trust you they are more apt to try your product and provide valuable feedback.

How to manage your business

The important thing to survive your small business is how to manage it smartly.

Managing your small business can be a headache and a great source of stress in your daily life, especially if you are not managing it properly. However, when you are faced with all of the day-to-day issues that arise in a small business, you may feel you do not have time to devote to proper business management.

Instead of trying to figure it all out on your own, you will need to consider the advice below. By taking this advice, you will be able to streamline your business and manage it properly. You can manage your small business in the best way possible. It will just take a little work and a great deal of forethought.

1. Do not try to run everything yourself. While you may be afraid of trusting someone else with any part of your business, the best thing to do is to find ways to place some responsibility on others. If you try to handle every aspect of your business, you will quickly become overwhelmed, and you will begin to miss things.

Start handing out responsibility in small amounts to your most trustworthy employees. If you take small steps, you will not be putting too much pressure on either you or your employees.

2. Despite the fact that you are very busy, you will need to know how every part of your business works. While it is vital that you do not handle everything on your own, you still do not want to become lax.

If you put all of the responsibility on a certain employee and then do not keep tabs on things, you could find yourself in a bad situation should something happen to that employee. Instead, dole out responsibility, but always know what is going on with your company. It is your business, after all.

3. Know that the customer is always the most important part of your business. While you need to make sure your company is working properly and you have the right amount of cash flow, none of it will matter if you begin neglecting your customers.

Always be available to your customers, even when you are busy. If you make sure your customers know that they are valued, you will be able to keep them coming back, and they will even refer your business to their friends and acquaintances.

You can properly manage your small business with simple steps. You will quickly see a difference in the flow of your company by taking these steps, and you will be able to sleep better at night knowing the company is managed properly.

Making soyabean milk

As a mobile hawker ,everyday I sell soyabean milk at Bazar but never make it by my own.

I love the texture of smoothness of 'TouFu Fa' with the sweetness of palm sugar syrup. It's delicious and light, great for breakfast or supper.

This got me thinking, how about making my own 'TouFu Fa'? That'll be nice. So I beg my heart out to get the below recipe from a friend who owns a Chinese restaurant.

Ingredients to prepare:

3 cups soybeans, soak for at least 6 hours.

a bunch pandan leaves

3 tbsp tapioca/corn flour

1 tbsp gymsum powder (calcium sulphate)

Syrup:

300g palm sugar

a bunch pandan leaves

Instruction to make 'TouFu Fa':

Separate soaked soybean into 3 batches, add equal amount of water and grind till fine. Squeeze out all liquid with a piece of muslin cloth into a measuring jar, mix in more water to the paste if necessary to make total 2 litters milk.

To make soybean milk, the exactly amount of water added is not so important. Put the milk in a large pot filling just about 1/3, add some pandan leaves. Remove foam when necessarily and bring to boil for just a few minutes. It tends to foam and overflow, so make sure the fire is low and you're there watching the cooking process! The milk is not ready. (proceed to making syrup, serve hot with syrup or leave in fridge to cool)

To make soybean curd. Put starch and gypsum powder into a measuring jar and mix with a cup of water, pour in 1 1/2 litters of hot soybean milk and let stand for 10 minutes to set. set the remaining milk aside.

To make syrup, simply melt palm sugar with a little water and a bunch of pandan leaves, filter into a bowl.

To serve, simply scoop bean curd into a bowl, add a little syrup (you could add a little soybean milk in it too). Best eaten hot.

Soyabean Benefits

What foods that have various health benefits for ours for serving menu.

There are a number of foods that have various health benefits. These foods not only give essential nutrition to your body but also prevent you from several diseases. Soyabean is one among them. This article will emphasize on the benefits of soyabean and how to prepare soyabean salad.

Soya, the complete plant protein, soyabean, belongs to the legume family and is a native of East Asia. It has been an important source of protein in the Eastern countries for thousand of years. Scientists and researchers concur that soya protein is complete. For many years we believed that complete protein (with all essential amino acids) came only from egg and milk. Now research shows that soya protein is as good as milk and egg protein.

Epidemiological studies indicate that incidence of chronic diseases like coronary artery disease is much lower in the Japanese population because they consume more than 50 grams of soyabean a day. There is increasing evidence that consuming protein regularly may help to lower cholesterol by binding bile acids. The isoflavones (antioxidants) present in soya is believed to reduce cancer cell activity. Unlike animal protein, soya protein decreases calcium excretion from the body and therefore may help in controlling osteoporosis.

Soyabean is high in fiber and has a low glycaemic index which helps in better control of blood sugar levels. Soya has more fat and protein compared to other pulses like Bengal gram, black gram and green gram and ahs fewer carbohydrates than these pulses. Soya contains a good amount of vitamins, mineral and fiber. How to eat soyabeans? - is the main question. Here is a recipe one can try:

Soyabean salad ingredients

Soyabean soaked overnight - 225 grams,
green gram sprouts - 100 grams,
shredded spring onions - ½ bunch,
olive oil - 1 tablespoon,
lemon juice - 2 tablespoons,
clove garlic crushed - 1
and salt, pepper to taste

Method: Drain soyabean. Add fresh water to cover and cook till soyabean is tender. Drain and rinse with cold water. Blend oil, lemon juice and garlic together and pour over warm beans. Toss and leave aside to cool. Mix with salt and pepper. Just before serving mix in the sprouts and spring onions. Hope I have covered the major healthy benefits of soyabean. Always eat healthy for healthy life.

Waste Oil Disposal For Restaurants

Waste vegetable oil is a natural byproduct of cooking and presents an interesting problem for any restaurant owner. Just what does one do with the gallons, sometimes even barrels, worth of used vegetable oil accrued on a daily basis through the everyday workings of the restaurant? Fortunately there are several options, some of which can even be profitable to the restaurant owner.

The most common means of disposing of the large quantities of oil generated by a restaurant is the use of a waste oil disposal service. Depending on the area the restaurant is operating in, there may be several options in this. In areas where there is not a ready demand for used oil a restaurateur may find it necessary to pay to have cooking oil removed.

Locating a suitable disposal service is often as simple as turning to the local yellow pages. Cooking oil removal services are often listed under the heading "Oil - Used and Waste". It is a simple matter of doing a bit of research and calling around to see which service offers the best price and works with the restaurant's schedule. Often times refineries offer a waste cooking oil removal service at lower cost than independent operations.

In some areas, where there is an applicable use and facilities that utilize waste oil, a restaurateur may even find that he can make money off of his restaurant's oil. Many removal services are willing to pay for oil that they then resell. Waste oil is used by rendering plants where it is recycled into high energy fat used in animal feeds. Used cooking oils can also be treated and turned into biofuel replacements or traditional fossil fuels in industrial environments. Removal services in areas with access to such facilities are often willing to pay a restaurant owner a fraction of the price they are able to get per barrel of waste oil.

Another option that is growing rapidly in popularity comes from private individuals who have adopted the growing trend of using waste oil as fuel for automotive use. In the current rise of environmental consciousness, more and more individuals are exploring the use of greener and more cost efficient fuels. In the wake of this movement there has been a rise in the conversion of diesel engines to run on waste oil. The process is safe and relatively inexpensive and has a great appeal to those seeking to lessen their carbon footprint or to lessen the burden on their wallet from exorbitant traditional fuel prices. These individuals are more than willing to take waste oil off of a restaurant owners hands, solving the problem of waste removal for the owner and giving him the satisfaction of knowing that he too is playing a role in protecting the environment.

Waste oil is a normal and unavoidable aspect of restaurant operation, so it benefits the owner to survey the options available for its disposal before the grill is even fired for the first time. As demonstrated above, there are numerous options available to the owner, some of which can even prove beneficial to the business. It pays to do the research and find out what is accessible.

Great profit to selling hotdog

There are many reasons people search for work and in many cases they take whatever they can get and end up with low wages and a bad boss.

What if I were to tell you that there are some business opportunities out there for a very small start up fee and easy to learn tricks of the trade?

Well I'll tell you my absolute favourite career opportunity is selling hot dogs from a cart.

The reason I feel this way about it is, it is a very inexpensive business to start up and when you take a little bit of time to learn the ropes which is so easy to master you will have the time of your life and the money to.

There are some downfalls which I should mention such as bad weather, sometimes requiring a community kitchen which depends on your county regulations, and sometimes hiring the wrong people to help you out.

These problems are very minor when you get to know a few simple tricks that will easily get you past this road block.

Also you need to know the right products to buy and how to prepare them for the best taste that has customers coming back time after time.

By products such as potato chips, chocolate bars, soda pop, chili and if you like a homemade juice drink that out sells the soda pops are simple but necessary items that you have to know which ones to buy.

One lesson that is easy to understand but very necessary to the survival of this hot dog business is to not scrimp on any products and always buy top quality goods because your customers are your lively hood, and the best part of all you are the boss while making great profits.

Here is How to Create a Website For Your Small Business

Would you like a website for your small business, but you just have no idea how to go about creating one? Well, this article will share 2 different strategies that you can take to create a website for your small business.

1. Build one yourself. Yes, you can really create a website yourself - even if you do not have any technical experience. It just may take you a little bit longer to put together a website.

Websites like BlinkWeb and Weebly allow you to create simple websites fairly easily. You might also want to take a look at blogging platforms, such as Blogger and WordPress, to see if blogs fit your needs better.

One of the main benefits of creating your own website is that it will save you money (as opposed to spending hundreds or thousands of dollars for someone else to build you one). Another benefit is that you will start to become acclimated to website design.

2. Hire someone to create one for you. Obviously, this option will be a little more costly to you, but it very well may be worth it, especially if you are an extremely busy individual who does not have the time into learning how to build a website.

To hire someone to create a website for you, you can take a look at larger website design and development companies or you can outsource the work to a freelancer. You can find freelancers on websites, such as Elance, Guru, and Odesk. Prior to hiring a freelancer though, you should check his or her previous work.

5 profitable small business

Business ownership has been established as the only realistic route to financial independence available to most people. It is also a route fraught with many pitfalls. What, with the many stories we hear of businesses that turn against their owners, plunging them into pits of debt and even bankruptcy. Indeed, corroborated statistics show that out of every 100 business started, more than 90% of them fail within five years of their inception. And even for the businesses that do pick up, there is always the big question of profitability to look into. For the ultimate objective of starting any business is always to earn a profit, and a reasonable one at that, if one is to justify the hard work that is starting and running a business. Yet with the current hard economic times being faced globally, it has become hard to identify a business with a promise of reasonable profit that is also easy and within your reach to start. Thankfully, here are 5 businesses that are potentially highly profitable, and which are also easy to set-up and run.

Forex Trading

We are no longer living in the age where forex trading was the preserve of a certain elite class of people. With the advent of online forex trading programs, all you need is good Internet access, and the initial forex to start trading. This need not to be a big amount, for you can always start small and grow with time. And with the current upheavals in the financial markets (which translate into huge fluctuations in currencies) you stand to make a big killing. Moreover with aid of the modern forex trading software (which comes cheap or even free in some cases), you can arrange your forex trading in such a way that the program automatically sells the forex you are holding once it slides bellow a certain floor, thus eliminating the risk of your losing your capital.

These are programs in which you let sellers advertise their products on your websites for a commission. It is not as hard as it sounds. In fact, it could be one of the easiest profitable business ideas out there. All you need to set up an Affiliate marketing account and get a website have some basic know-how in sales and marketing. There are plenty of website creation aids available (some for free) on the web. Website hosting also costs a pittance, and in fact there are even some free web-hosting services you can give a try.

eBay Shop

eBay is essentially an online market where you can sell anything, from household goods to apparel, books and even patents. The key to making a good profit on eBay is by exploiting the economies of scale, that is, having many items on sale at the same time. All you need to set up an e-bay shop is a good internet connection and the initial stock to get you going. And the only overhead in this type of business will be your Internet costs only. You can have buyers pay for their own shipping, and in fact that is the standard practice on most eBay shops.

Professional Consultancy

This is the greatest business idea for you if you have some marketable professional skill. This need not be anything fancy. You can set up a professional consultancy around your web design, book-keeping or any other skill you have. You may never know the potential value of the skill you are sitting on until you offer it for sale. In professional consultancy, you are mostly paid for what you know, rather than what you do, and the rates that professionals get paid for their advice can be simply astounding. Yet armed with a marketable skill, you don't need a lot of finance to set up a consultancy. In most cases, all you need to set up a professional consultancy is a basically equipped office and you are good to go. The key to succeeding in this type of business is simply keeping abreast of developments in your professional field so that you can offer your clients timely and valuable advice.

Retail

The current financial crisis is really hurting the big-time retailers and you can cut into their markets, potentially making princely profits. As a small time retailer, you have the advantage of lower overheads compared to the big retailers. Moreover, as a small-timer, you have the opportunity to offer your customers personal contact, an element of shopping that many shoppers are yearning for, and which the big retailers are finding themselves unable to offer faced as they are with forced staff-cuts. The key to success in retail will be to offer your customers a good variety to choose from, and great service. And while starting out in retail might be a bit costly, the concept of retail is easily and universally understandable and therefore easy to sell to financiers for start-up capital.

Increase profit strategy

As a small business owner, do you know how often your customers purchase from your business? Most small business owners do not pay much attention to how often their customers buy from them due to their limited resources and capability. Many just ignore the importance of knowing how often their customers walk into their store and buy something.

There is a very important issue that all business owners must know, if you cannot measure, you cannot manage. Many small business owners spend countless of their money to promote their businesses, products and or services, but they never create a systematic way of retaining their customers. Customers saw their advertisement or promotion brochure, buy the thing they wanted and leave without a trace.

As a small business owner, you need to know that your acquisition cost is the fixed whether you have one or one thousand new customers from your promotion campaign. However, the more they buy; the lower will be your average acquisition cost per customer. Better still, the more often they buy from you, the lesser will be your average marketing and promotion cost. Remember, every dollar you save will add an immediate dollar to your profit.

Open up your wallet; you will probably have a few membership rewards cards apart from your credit or bank cards. What do these cards serve? Some of them give you a fixed discount on your future purchase, some offer rewards points where you can redeem gifts, Some offer both but the all have one aim and one aim only, that is to remind you to keep buying from them instead of their competitor. People need reminder more than to inform. So as small business owner, what can you learn from this big corporation? You need to have a systematic way of reminding your customers to keep coming back to you than to your customers. Start by going through your customers' base and check how frequent your regular customers buy from you. And if you do not have a customers' data base, it is high time you must create one for your future expansion of your business.

Imagine, what would be your profit like when you can attract your customers who buy from you once a year to twice a year, you immediately double up your sales revenue from this group of customers. What if you can attract those who buy once a month from you to buy twice from you even with a incentive scheme such as a frequency discount, your business will still generate a steady flow of revenue with spend much on marketing promotion to attract new customers. Less cost means more profit, and more frequency means more income for your business, thus more profit.

Starting today, see how you can attract your existing customers to buy more frequently from you. Increase the frequency, increase your profit.

Goal setting for business

Successful business people know how to set goals, make plans and execute those plans. Goals are drivers for success. Without goals it is uncertain how you are going to achieve success. There are many different terms used to express goals such as vision and mission often used in the corporate business world. They are all goals or desired future destinations. Ask yourself the question "Where do I want to be 5 years from now with my business?". This is a very simple question but it is not easy to answer it. Are you driven by profit only or there are other things you want to achieve along with your business?

Research on goal setting has shown that goal setting leads to improved business performance - it is the basis for success in business. Before starting your business you should take some time to think about what you are trying to achieve with your business. This is the first step you need to do before you develop your business plan. Business plans and strategy development are means for achieving business goals but they are not goals by themselves.

Once you start your business your employees expect you to set individuals goals for them and they need to understand the big picture of your business. Going to work without clear goals and expectations create frustration and does not motivate employees to do their best. Setting clear goals for your employees will improve their performances because they will know what is expected from them and they will know how to do their jobs.

Dreams, ideas and creativity are all parts of setting goals. All successful businesses have started with a good idea but before they jumped into business they crafted their ideas to stand the market and customer test and position their business successfully in the marketplace. Converting creative ideas into specific goals and objectives is very important process and it is the key for developing a successful business. Successful businesses have targets they try to achieve and convert their vision in measurable and specific goals.

Goals allow you to focus your time, resources and effort and they motivate you and make you work hard to achieve success. Effective goals are specific, measurable and action oriented. Once everyone agrees on the goals it is easy to manage your business and communicate with your employees. Goals help you to stay on track and always have the big picture in front of you. Goals are not set in vacuum. In order to be realistic (not only dreaming) you should develop a good understanding of the market you are going to do business in, understanding competitors' way of doing business and most important of all understanding your potential customers. Once you develop a good understanding of your business environment you should work on setting your business goals. During the process of setting your business goals you should take into consideration the SMART rule of goal setting.

Effective Goals are SMART:

Specific - Goals should be specific, clear and easy to understand.

Measurable - Goals should be quantified / expressed in numbers.

Attainable - Goals should be attainable.

Realistic - Goals should be realistic. People who are supposed to achieve the goals should be able and willing to do that.

Timely - Goals should be linked to a specific period of time. Deadlines are good drivers for success.

Start business with right way

Everyone just loves performance evaluations.

Employees tend to dread them because they’re often a useless exercise of “well, you’re doing ok, here’s your 2% raise, see you in 6 months or a year or whatever”.

Sometimes you’ll hear that you need to improve something, but more often than not you’ll hear nothing specific that you can really bear down on. Back to the treadmill you go, cubicle boy.

Don’t get me wrong, that’s not a bad thing and it’ll likely help – but it isn’t detailed, high-quality feedback that helps you improve your performance. Quotas aren’t feedback and neither is a serving of Zig, no matter how tasty a morsel of brain food it might be.

Self-employed folks like me get evaluations in a slightly different way: in the form of testimonials or by not having our calls returned, or by something somewhere in between. Not unlike an employee performance review – you almost always know why and to expect what you got.

Don’t be the majority

The majority of folks just don’t get a lot of guidance on what they need to do and specifically how to get there.

Some companies are better at this than others, but most just don’t seem to focus on it. Big mistake, because without specifics, you don’t know much.

You don’t know for sure who the best is, unless you consult your “Seat of the pants” meter – and we all know how accurate that is.

You might think you know because Joe talks about what he does more than Mary or Jerry, but it might turn out that Stefan (who you never see) is really the one putting out the programming that has the fewest bugs, the pottery that has lowest return rate, the timber framing that requires the least amount of shim, the websites that produce the best sales, the brochures that generate the most calls, or whatever.

All of these things are measurable.

If your business isn’t one of the ones I mentioned, there’s something that your employees do that can be measured – and thus, managed (yes, a Druckerism).

You already know what to measure. But you might not be doing it, and you likely aren’t doing it by employee, much less breaking it down by time of day, days since the last day off, days since first leaving for a sick day and so on.

Real world

Let’s make it a little bit harder by making the job a little bit harder to measure.

Imagine that you’re trying to do this measurement at an architecture firm. There’s a lot of highly-subjective work going on there. Seems like it would be hard to measure.

Who makes the best designs? And what does “best” really mean?

Sells the best? Uses the least amount of resources? Burns the least energy when compared to similarly purposed structures?

You have to decide what “best” is because until you do, best is a gut feel.

That’s a terrible way to assess performance, particularly of complex tasks like architecture, engineering and programming, but it isn’t any more attractive for less-complex roles.

Knowing your staff. REALLY knowing them

Without performance measurement of this nature, you might not have an idea who is more productive with high quality work when single family homes vs. commercial structures.

You might not know who does crappy work when they take 1 sick day and hits their normal quality level when they take 2 days. If they happen to perform critical path, possibly life-threatening work on that second day, wouldn’t you want to know?

The really cool thing is that it can completely alter your company’s future by vastly improving the one thing that lots of folks mess up, or at least, don’t do a very good job of.

Hiring.

Every manager has a bad hire story, maybe two.

Trouble is, that’s the part of the iceberg that’s above the water. Avoiding that hire or giving HR and management more tools to make a better hire are what you really need.

Measurement to the rescue.

Aych Arr

Using this same measurement data, your hiring can change – if you want it to.

For example, instead of hiring someone who knows how to competently design 437 different structures (in generic terms, a civil or mechanical engineer), you may just need to find the master of all composite wood beam designs because that’s the weak spot on your team.

You know this because… your measurement data says so.

Even if your composite wood beam expert just retired, you can still look at your measurement data to see which parts of their job should be given to existing staff and what specialties across the entire staff are your company’s weakness.

Either way, you hire for strength in the skills your data indicate – remember, the data illustrates what your existing staff do best.

IT managers and software execs: Imagine if your favorite programming environment could do this. What could you get from a tool that measured development at this level of granularity?

What if you knew who performs task A faster than everyone else, but stinks at performing task B, but you never really figure this out because each person does their own project from beginning to end.
